In 1952, he developed a wrist-worn chronograph with a rotary slide rule that allowed pilots to make all the necessary calculations for flight. The design was presented as the official timepiece design of the International Association of Owners-Pilots (AOPA) and was named "Navigation Timer", or "Navitimer".
