Normally, when developing a new product, the design department would ask the development department about the product, but for the MRG-B5000 , the development department requested the design department to make a product like this. .

First of all, this bezel part

The same square full metal model GMW-B5000 uses only one part as a case part , but the MRG-B5000 uses as many as 25 parts for this part alone .
By subdividing and assembling, we were able to beautifully polish all kinds of surfaces, such as grooves, dents, and chamfers, which could not be polished until now.
It's really a small part, but such attention to detail leads to the beauty and elegance of the whole.
And in order to compose a full-metal shock-resistant structure with bezel parts that pursue beauty and subdivide, we developed a multi-guard structure as a special structure for MRG-B5000 .

At first, it seems that 25 parts were falling apart without being able to withstand the impact.
After many improvements, this multi-guard structure was born!

By pushing up the T-shaped bar on the multi-part bezel with a metal leaf spring, the top bezel functions as a bumper! Plus, combined with fine resin parts and silicon cushioning material, it reduces the impact.

Considering that there are 25 parts in this part alone, and polishing is applied to each one, the number of work processes has increased more than ever, and it can be said that it takes a considerable amount of time and effort to make one. increase.

However, it's still too early to be surprised... Titanium is used for the material of MR-G, but this time, three different materials are used for each part .

- Top bezel → Cobalion

Cobalt-chromium alloy is said to have four times the hardness of pure titanium and the same brilliance as platinum.
The bezel part is the part that is most likely to be scratched when used. That's why we use Cobalion, which has a high degree of hardness. Still, Casio's commitment is to perform a thorough and careful polishing. As it is said to be equivalent to platinum, the shine after polishing is wonderful.

● Band → DAT55G

DAT55G was used in the previous limited model, and this is the first time it has been adopted in the standard model.
This is a titanium alloy with about three times the hardness of pure titanium.

With this surface treatment, even if the hardness of the surface is the same, the depth of the scratches varies depending on the difference in the substrate (material).
If it is a fine small scratch, it will change depending on the strength of the surface layer of DLC or TIC, but if a strong force is applied, not only the thin layer of 2 or 3 microns on the surface, but also the depth of the scratch will depend on the hardness of the material. is affected.
