“Carbon fiber” is in the spotlight because it is also used in spacecraft fuselages.
This avant-garde timepiece uses this material, which is characterized by its light weight and high durability, as the case material.
The ball watch is equipped with an inner case for anti-magnetic watches, but while it boasts high anti-magnetic properties, it has the disadvantage of being heavy.
"Volcano" combines "Mu-metal" and "carbon fiber" with an electromagnetic shield, and succeeded in reducing weight by about 50% while maintaining anti-magnetism.
We found a common denominator between mu-metal, which has high magnetic permeability, and volcanoes, which are sometimes called large magnets, and named it "volcano."
The unique texture of the case creates a mysterious atmosphere of lava that has cooled and solidified.
In addition to the case, the plate under the dial and the lid of the inner frame are also made of mu-metal material, which exerts an electromagnetic shielding effect. With the dial held horizontally, the magnetism resistance against the vertical direction is 80,000A/m. It is reliable even against the magnetism of smartphones (22,400A/m).
