The anti-magnetic watch developed based on the military watch for the Royal Air Force, the first Railmaster model ref.CK2914 is reproduced with modern technology.

This limited edition retains the form and proportions of the first model from 1957, but with a state-of-the-art movement and contemporary quality, so it's more than a "reissue" of sorts.

The polished/brushed 38mm case has a traditional seahorse-engraved caseback.

A rare 19mm wide bracelet.

This model alone is very attractive, but the movement is equipped with the Master Chronometer self-winding cal.8806, which boasts the best magnetic resistance in the watch world.

The buckle has an adjuster for length adjustment and pursues practicality.

The dial expresses the aged deterioration of tritium and black dial.

The original dial was made of soft iron to improve magnetic resistance, but it has been changed to brass as the movement has evolved.

A smooth bezel polished to a dome-shaped windshield that feels nostalgic.

The small laser engraved Ω logo in the center of the sapphire crystal windshield is also something to be proud of.

This 60-year-old Railmaster 1957 Trilogy magnificence comes down to universal size, a look inspired by the first model and a perfect example of modern technology.

CK2777-1 (for military use), CK2777-2 (for civilian use), and to Railmaster CK2914

Well, how was this Railmaster developed?

It was a watch ref.CK2777 for the Royal Air Force in 1953, 70 years ago.

CK2777 ref.CK2777

During World War II, the British Ministry of Defense commissioned 12 watchmakers, including Swiss Omega, to produce bespoke watches.

Yes, it originally goes back to military military watches.

The Royal Air Force asked Omega to develop a watch that would not be affected by the magnetism generated on board, and in 1953, CK2777-1 was sent to Canada in the British Commonwealth of Nations, and CK2777-2, which was further improved and developed, was used as a civilian product. Sold.

The CK2777 was a hit because it was equipped with a hand-wound chronometer movement to prevent the rotor from coming off, and because it was highly resistant to magnetic fields.

The Railmaster CK2914 was heavily influenced by the military CK2777, and although it was improved with CK2914-1 to 6, it was only made for a few years from 1957 to 1961 (some say 1963). It will be a very rare model.

In this era, various variations such as prototypes being sold as market research are scattered, and high prices can be seen from the high popularity. (There are also two types of Railmaster military models, which are extremely rare)

Pet name named Railmaster

Well, to find out why this CK2914 was named "Railmaster", we have to look at America in the 1950s.

After the 1940s, known as the railroad frenzy, and the 1950s, when electrical equipment became more popular, railroads were also undergoing a major transformation. It used many locomotives.

Compared to steam engines, the electric trains were quieter and faster, and the crew's clocks were magnetized, and the magnetic resistance of the clocks became a major problem.

Therefore, many watch companies announced antimagnetic watches, and Omega also announced Railmaster with antimagnetic performance in 1957.
Below is the timeline.

1955
IWC: Ingenieur ref.666
1956
Rolex: Milgauss ref.6541
1957
Omega: Railmaster ref.CK2914
1958
Patek Philippe: ref.3417
Jaeger Lecoultre: Geophysical ref.E168

At that time, the American market welcomed watches with pet names, and it seems that "Railmaster" was better than "CK2914" in terms of marketing.

With such a background, a wristwatch developed for military use in 1953 was released to the world.

With an adjuster for length adjustment on the back of the buckle of the old Ω logo

In 2017, 60 years later, the Railmaster will be reprinted as a trilogy along with the Speedmaster and Seamaster.
The method of tomography became a hot topic for the first time in the watch industry.

As a matter of fact, this reprint is not the first time the name Railmaster has been used.

Moving into the 2000s, Omega introduced a new model called the Railmaster Co-Axial Chronometer in 2003, followed by another version, the Railmaster XXL, in 2012, but the first model produced in 1957. had nothing to match.

Only 3557 of this 60th Anniversary Railmaster 1957 Trilogy were built.

Instead, it reproduces everything we want in a reprint, and the real thing is even better.

Reality is beyond imagination.

Well, last but not least, many brands today are returning to classic watch sizes.

Small tool watches on bracelets have an undeniable appeal, and it's also true that many people are attracted to watches that fit under their cuffs.

The Railmaster's original design is timeless and perfect, and although it looked a bit small when it was introduced in 2017, it feels just right today.

The watch storage box is also reproduced in 1957.

A replacement strap is also included, and is designed to touch the heartstrings of collectors.
