In 2018, IWC became the official licensee of the US Navy's Blue Angels® aerobatics. The squadron was established in 1946 and currently has 141 members drawn from the Navy and Marine Corps.

The Pilot's Watch Chronograph 'Blue Angels®' is the third timepiece to emerge from this partnership.

Inspired by a military-only model jointly developed with the Blue Angels stationed on Pensacola (the US Navy's heavy cruiser), the timepiece has a blue ceramic case. Its vibrant colors are created by combining zirconium oxide with other metal oxides.



The pushpieces and crown are made of IWC-developed Ceratanium®, which combines the lightness and robustness of titanium with the hardness and scratch resistance of ceramic. In the details, the day and date display, the chronograph second hand, and the yellow coloring the small seconds attract attention.



The grade 5 titanium caseback is engraved with the distinctive “Blue Angels®” lettering. Inside the case, the driving force is generated by the IWC-manufactured chronograph movement, caliber 69380.



This precision self-winding movement with 231 components is beautifully decorated with Côtes de Genève and circular decoration. It vibrates at 28800.0 vibrations/hour (4.0 Hz) and has a power reserve of 46 hours.



The rubber strap with matching blue fabric inlay is fitted as standard with a blasted stainless steel folding clasp.

This special model is limited to 500 pieces per year.
