"FRED" began in 1936 when Fred Samuel opened a jewelry store at 6, Rue Royale, Paris, France. At the time, the restaurant across the street, Maxim (a long-established restaurant in Paris), was popular as a social gathering place, and its originality and creativity caught the attention of the people who came and went.

Known as a jeweler favored by celebrities such as Marlene Deitrich and Catherine Deneuve, as well as the royal family, in the 1960s, it created numerous masterpieces in collaboration with leading artists of the era.

One of them is the gold medal, which is based on a drawing by Jean Cocteau in 1962.

The elegant necklace that Richard Gere gave Julia Roberts in the 1989 movie "Pretty Woman" was actually made by Fred.

We have been specializing in jewelery with bold colored stones such as jade, amber, and lapis lazuli, but recently, "Force 10", which has a braid-like design, is a popular collection. Force 10 was inspired by a metal fitting called a shackle used on a yacht and has been loved for 50 years.

Currently, it is expanding worldwide in places such as Cannes, Monaco, Las Vegas, and Tokyo, centered on Place Vendôme in Paris.
