Caliber 9R86, a Spring Drive chronograph GMT movement born in 2007. In the history of Grand Seiko, the appearance of a movement equipped with a stopwatch function was a major turning point in reconsidering the essence of time.
The dial of this SBGC247, which will be released to commemorate the 15th anniversary, reproduces the snow surface pattern called "Sukabura" that can be seen from winter to early spring in the highlands of the Northern Alps seen from "Shinshu Toki no Takumi Kobo". Škabra refers to the pattern that the wind scrapes away the deep snow, and especially in early spring when the daytime temperature rises and the snow begins to melt, the Šukabra becomes even more wild.
The movement is equipped with a special caliber 9R96 with a precision of ±10 seconds per month, and the 18K yellow gold lion emblem on the oscillating weight asserts its specialness.
